End of season round up 2016-2017
The rescheduled Division Six matches are now complete, bringing to an end a season of mixed fortunes for Heath Hoops.
In Division Two the contest went down to the wire, with Hawks missing out on promotion to the top tier by one agonizing point. This was the second year running that they had to make do with third place, but having overcome the loss of key players to finish with the lowest “goals-against” score in the group, they posted a much stronger overall performance.
Despite injuries and a mid-season reshuffle Harriers finished fifth in what was their first year in Division Four. Proving just how closely contested the group was, the bottom six teams were separated by only ten points, with games often decided in the last quarter.
Hurricanes’ year ended with a narrow loss against Spitfires and fifth place in Division Six. After a patchy first half to the competition, the Hoops side gelled as a unit and were unlucky not to come away with more wins in some hard-fought matches.
All three teams now have plenty of positives to take forward to trials and Summer league. Bring on next season!
